Discover how a Medieval City  looked like and get to know some of the most beautiful and impressive medieval city walls in Europe that have come to our days.

In this course medieval city and walled cities in the middle age we will also look at 2 cities whose walls were destroyed – Porto and Paris – and the conjunctures of this destruction.

I also present Alois Riegl and his “The Modern Cult of Monuments”, which was a turning point in the concepts of preservation of monuments and starting point for the International Letters and Conventions for the protection of Monumental Heritage.
